My Story…

 In 2011, like many parents, I encountered the harsh reality of unaffordable childcare and rising expenses. Faced with these challenges, I courageously embraced entrepreneurship and founded my own bookkeeping firm, transitioning from a secure employee to a resilient solopreneur. I believe many can relate to the need for such a shift during difficult times.

By 2012, armed with my expertise in QuickBooks, I obtained my QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification, established a professional website, and started training small business owners both offline and online on how to do their own bookkeeping. Through government contracts and customized online courses, I expanded my reach, aiding clients in seamlessly adopting QuickBooks for their bookkeeping needs. Over time, my clientele diversified to include financial advisors, therapists, content creators, and e-commerce businesses, immersing me in the vibrant creator economy.

Throughout my work, a common thread among my clients became apparent – they were all part of the creator economy. From podcasters to online coaches, I discovered that many were unaware of the financial intricacies necessary to run a successful business. This realization led me to leverage the power of YouTube, connecting with small business owners who needed guidance in accurately and efficiently preparing their financial reports. 

 The challenges of 2020 reinforced the need to streamline my business operations as I balanced assisting my two children with online schooling and preparing my preschooler for kindergarten. Managing my household and children’s education prompted me to automate various aspects of my business, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

 In my experience, I have found that many entrepreneurs struggle to comprehend how numbers significantly impact business growth. Yet, financial freedom and reclaiming one’s time are often the driving forces behind starting a business and living a fulfilling life. With this in mind, I created Digital Dollars and Cents, a platform aimed at helping solopreneurs in the creator economy gain a deep understanding of how their actions directly affect their bottom line.
